Legion Park Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM at 6601 Biscayne Blvd, Miami. Vizcaya Village Farmers Market runs every Sunday from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at 3250 S. Miami Ave. Our Tuesday farmstand at Beehive Natural Foods, 6490 Bird Rd, runs 4 to 8 PM, and the Pembroke Pines evening market at 8201 Pembroke Rd runs on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 5 to 9 PM. The Vizcaya Night Market runs one Thursday a month from October through June, 5 to 9 PM: October 8, November 12, December 17, January 14, February 11, March 11, April 8, May 13 and June 10. All markets are year-round and rain or shine unless extreme weather is expected; closures are posted on Instagram.
Yes. Every Urban Oasis market accepts SNAP/EBT along with cash, credit and debit. Bring your EBT card to the information booth and we double every purchase of Florida-grown fruits and vegetables, with no daily limit. You receive green tokens for the doubled amount, and those tokens can be spent at our booth or at other eligible booths selling Florida-grown produce. The doubling is funded for now by Neighborhood Farms USA, independently of the Fresh Access Bucks program.
The $5 Food Box program is paused indefinitely because its funding has run out. When it runs, a $5 food box is a $20 bag of fresh local produce that SNAP shoppers buy for $5, preordered on our online store or picked up at any market. We will restart it as soon as new funding arrives, and the newsletter will announce the return. In the meantime, SNAP doubling at every market still stretches your produce budget, and if you need help getting produce, contact us and we will find a way.
Yes. Our online store on Local Line opens Wednesday at 9 AM and closes Thursday at 9 PM each week, with produce from more than 30 farms and Miami artisan vendors. Pick up your order at Legion Park on Saturday, Vizcaya Village on Sunday, or Beehive Natural Foods on Tuesday evening. Delivery within Miami-Dade County runs on Saturdays for a $10 fee, and the fee is waived for SNAP customers. SNAP matching covers half of an online order as long as half of the order is Florida fruits and vegetables.
A G.I.V.E. Garden (Gardens Inspiring Volunteerism and Education) is a 4 foot by 8 foot raised-bed garden that starts a new gardener with the soil, seedlings, tools and training to grow food at home or at a school, church or community site. We build them with volunteers and refresh existing gardens each season. To request a garden, a refresh, or to join a build day, email our garden program manager at rhi@urbanoasisproject.org.
Email art@urbanoasisproject.org with your interests and availability. Volunteers run market booths on weekends, build and refresh G.I.V.E. gardens, sort and pack produce, and help at events. Market volunteers who complete their training sessions earn free produce at every shift.
Often, yes. We regularly hire part-time market assistants, farmstand staff, delivery drivers, and produce sorting and packing staff. The work is physical and outdoors. Email art@urbanoasisproject.org with a short note about yourself and your availability, and we will set up a conversation.
Read the vendor guidelines for the market you want, then submit the pre-application on our Vendor Applications page. We prioritize locally produced food and handmade goods, so tell us exactly what you make or grow and where. We reply to every application, and space at each market is limited.
Yes. Urban Oasis Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 27-3335090, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive an emailed receipt for every online gift. Donate on our Donate page, sponsor a full G.I.V.E. garden, or add a donation to a Local Line order to help restart the $5 Food Box program.
Local farms come first. We aggregate produce from over 30 South Florida farms, including certified organic growers, homegrowers and small producers, plus local vendors for meat, eggs, seafood and prepared foods, and whenever a local option exists it is the only one we carry. South Florida’s seasons run opposite the rest of the country: winter is our abundant season, and in summer most local farms pause to rebuild soil and infrastructure. In summer we fill the gaps with produce from domestic partner farms around the country, and when nothing domestic is available, from those partners’ growers in Mexico and Canada, so our markets stay a one-stop shop and you can skip the grocery store. Summer is also when the local farms still harvesting need us most, because seasonal residents have left and sales across Miami-Dade decline. Some year-round staples, like Cal-Organic carrots, are the same brands sold at Whole Foods; the difference is that every dollar spent with us stays in Miami-Dade and supports a local nonprofit, its staff and its farmers. Each week’s harvest list, with the farm behind every item, goes out in our newsletter and appears on the online store.
Legion Park has free parking in the Biscayne Boulevard lot. Vizcaya Village offers free parking on the west side of S. Miami Ave, across from the museum entrance. The Pembroke Pines market has free on-site parking. All four locations are flat, paved or packed-ground sites reachable by wheelchair and stroller.
